Terms + Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before placing an order— we worked hard to actually make them readable and they contain some details about shipping, returns, and lead times that you will probably want to know! By purchasing from our store, you agree to be bound by the following terms:
1. Product Suitability and Customer Responsibility
Zap Lines + Rigging may offer product suggestions or recommendations based on general information about your boat or use case. However, these recommendations do not constitute professional engineering advice. It is solely your responsibility to ensure that all products—especially rope and hardware—are properly sized, installed, and suitable for your specific application. Zap Lines + Rigging is not liable for any damage, failure, or injury resulting from the misuse or improper selection of our products.
2. Custom and Cut-to-Length Products
All sales of custom-fabricated rope products and rope sold by the foot are final and non-returnable.
Customers must ensure that any custom rope products they order are correctly specified for their application. Even if we provide general length or diameter estimates based on your boat model, you are responsible for confirming that these recommendations are appropriate for your specific vessel. Rig dimensions, hardware setup, and deck layouts can vary significantly—even among boats of the same make, model and year.
We strongly encourage taking direct measurements from your boat or your existing lines. When in doubt, order a bit longer—ropes can always be trimmed down later.
3. Returns and Restocking Fee
Pre-packaged, unused products and un-installed hardware may be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to a 10% restocking fee. Returned items must be in new, resalable condition. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Custom products, rope sold by the foot, and any item that has been cut, spliced, or altered are not eligible for return.
4. Shipping and Lead Times
We do our best to process and ship orders promptly. However, custom-spliced rope orders may take up to two weeks to fabricate during high-volume periods.
Occasionally, an item you ordered may be out of stock. In such cases, fulfillment may be delayed while we wait for inventory from our suppliers. If we are unable to obtain the product from our suppliers, or if we expect a significant delay in obtaining it, we will contact you to arrange for a refund or product substitution.
Free shipping is offered on orders over $199, but this applies only to orders shipping within the United States.
5. Safety Disclaimer
Our products are not certified for human suspension. They are intended for marine and general-purpose use only. Zap Lines + Rigging assumes no responsibility for injury, death, or damage resulting from improper use—including, but not limited to, climbing, hoisting people, or working at height.
6. Communications
For all order-related inquiries, please contact us at: orders@zap-lines.com
7. Pricing and Errors
We strive for accuracy, but prices, product descriptions, and availability are subject to change without notice. Zap Lines + Rigging reserves the right to correct pricing or product errors at any time, including after an order has been placed.
8. Third-Party Fulfillment
Zap Lines + Rigging partners with a specialized rope and hardware distribution company to produce, fulfill, and ship most customer orders. While we manage the storefront, customer support, and product selection, your order may be fulfilled and shipped directly by one of our fulfillment partners.
We are not responsible for delays, damage, or errors that occur during third-party fulfillment or shipping, but we will work with you and our partners to resolve any issues that arise.
9. Manufacturer Responsibility for Custom Products
Zap Lines + Rigging acts as a reseller of custom-fabricated rope products and hardware that are produced and shipped by third-party manufacturing partners. We do not directly fabricate or inspect these custom items. While we make every effort to work with reputable partners and ensure product quality, the third-party manufacturer is ultimately responsible for the workmanship, accuracy, and material quality of all custom-fabricated products.
In the rare event of a manufacturing defect, Zap Lines + Rigging will assist in facilitating a resolution with the manufacturer, but we do not guarantee replacement or refund beyond what the manufacturer offers.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zap Lines + Rigging shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use—or inability to use—our products, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
